The obvious things first, you can decorate tables or centerpieces with items related to the team the groom is going to be playing for. Consider small pennants inserted into your regular centerpieces... Consider doing your escort cards in the style of a stadium ticket - set these up outside the reception room for guests to pick up as they come in, they then use their "stadium ticket" to find their table and/or seat.
